Tree nut allergy

Tree nuts include almonds, Brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, pine nuts (pignolias), pistachio nuts and walnuts.

It is important to note that allergen labeling for tree nuts does not include peanuts, coconut or nutmeg. Peanuts are part of the legume family. A coconut is a seed of a fruit and nutmeg is obtained from the seeds of a tropical tree and are also not considered tree nuts.
